Sunday night we had a song service instead of the usual worship service. I used to feel I could sing all night but this time I was tired after an hour. The songs were pretty but it was so hard to distinguish the melody with those particular instruments and singing with the microphones overpowering everything gave me a sore throat. Why do people use microphones in small buildings with good accoustics?!
Quite frankly I missed hearing the voices of the congregation. I missed the chance to choose some of my favorites. And I missed the old hymns - I'm not the only one who chooses them!
Masa probably loved it. On Saturday he gave the most novel excuse I've ever heard for not singing hymns... They convict him of sin and make him cry.
Bring on the hymns!

Hi! I just wanted to say Welcome back! I love your blog, and you husband's blog, and your son's as well! You are all a blessing and inspiration to me, so thank you! And I feel the same way about the old hymns!I was always amazed how beautiful the voiceof the congregation singing together was, when i knew all the people in my vicinity (including myself) were horribly out of tune! I miss singing hymns...Congratualtions on your new daughter-in-law as well! Peace in Christ~
I wish you lived around here! I would love someone to sing with when Mary's away at school.
