Old mail

I've had this excerpt from a 1963 OMF Superintendent's Letter in my Inbox for weeks because it seems too good to file away without notice. But with 294 emails in my Inbox ... I think its time for some housecleaning! But I'm posting it here before I file.

"For two weeks in early April 1963 Dr. Billy Graham will be in Japan again. On his previous visit this was his message to missionaries:

'If I were a missionary in Japan, I would do six things.
  1. I would make sure, absolutely dead sure, that I had been called of the Spirit of God.
  2. I would make sure that I had been filled with the Spirit.
  3. I would learn the language with God's help.
  4. I would do all I could to show that Christianity is not an American religion.
  5. I would get 12 men around me. It may take 5 years to do it, but get 12 people that are thoroughly born again and spend dayswith them, hours with them, have them as disciples right around you.
  6. I would work together with all those who love Jesus Christ.'
