I want to complain

I upgraded my Office software - and lost my address book. This would be unmitigated disaster if I didn't have most of the info stored in MS Outlook contacts. As it is its a mitigated disaster. I use Outlook Express for my mail client and I dislike MS Outlook so strongly that after three weeks of limping along I still can't bring myself to use it for anything but prayer letters. I have to use it for that - the groupings don't transfer with the addresses. (Neither do birthdays.)

Why oh why didn't they mention in the ads that Office 2003 doesn't support the shared address book?!

My daughter tried to tell me that I just needed to learn how to use it. But after 3 weeks I'm of the same opinion still - I should have stuck with Office 2000. The gains of upgrading were miniscule whereas my losses were devastating.

I like to see the BIG picture and anytime my view is restricted I feel claustrophobic. I want to scream. When I work with the Outlook address book (my Outlook Express address book was completely wiped out) and the new Clipart Gallery I feel like I'm looking through a keyhole. I wondered why this doesn't bother the people who made it. But after consulting a few of our computer guru friends I decided that this is because they don't use address books and clip art!

Twice I've been asked why I want to use the address book anyway. If you don't know I can't tell you. <> Suffice to say, I'm very unhappy.

I'm also missing semi-vital information. All the the web page links were in the side of my address book that got wiped clean! So were any notes that were put in from the Outlook Express side.

Now that I've vented my spleen perhaps I get on with the business of finding how Romans 8:28 applies to my computer life. (And my friends can send me their web page links!)
