My Help Comes From the Maker of 岩木山

Every New Year's Eve we draw for verses. (See my nephew's blog.) Last year my verses were Psalm 121:
I lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip--
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you--
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm--
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Mt. Iwaki (as captured by my niece)

This year my verse is Hebrews 10:39: "But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved." (But I've decided to take all of Hebrews 10:35-39. )

With out a doubt one of my favorite psalms/songs. Definitely a good reminder that a plan really is laid before us, but the Hebrews verse seems to fit nicely with boldly following that path. :)

Yes! Mine, too.

BTW, Happy Birthday, Jacob. I meant to write to you yesterday but I was out all day.

Our love to you and Autumn and our prayers for God's best in the coming year!
