Maundy Thursday with Friends

Maundy Thursday we went with some of our friends to a concert at Nishi Church in Hirosaki - selections from Bach's St. Matthew's Passion. It was short but good - I loved the piece where Peter goes out and weeps. The violin throbbed so we could almost FEEL Peter's sobs. Afterwards we ate cake and drank coffee with the Pastor's wife and some of the other guests.

Some of our party dispersed after that, but two friends came home with us for an evening of Yaki Niku and Probe.

Good food!

Our photographer took closeups of the food - it was good! - but, of course, the best part was the fellowship. And two wildly raucaus games of Probe allowed me to let off steam in the middle of a rather difficult week. Over the course of the game, we soon concluded that it would be very dangerous if I should ever take up gambling!

Not as serious as we look!
