I thank You God for most this amazing day:
for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(I who have died am alive again today,
And this is the sun's birthday;
this is the birthday of life and of love and wings:
and of the gay great happening illimitably earth)
How should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any--lifted from the no of all nothing--
Human merely being doubt unimaginable You?
(Now the ears of my ears awake and
Now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
Spring on Mount Iwaki
I hadn't actually read any e e cummings in many years! But a few days ago Tammi (whom I've never met but follow with interest) put this poem on her blog Joyful Noise and it so perfectly described my feelings a few hours later as we drove over Mount Iwaki and marveled at "the leaping greenly spirits of trees and a blue true dream of a sky."

Laurie,
I don't even remember how I came across your blog, I see that you have visited me. :~)
Have a blessed day. In God's Love, Tami
I visit you regularly! :-) (I love your positive attitude!)
Sometimes I wish I'd had a blogging community like yours when our children were growing up. But then I guess we wouldn't have developed in the direction we did. I sent my kids to Japanese school in quiet desparation, instead of homeschooling like I had wanted or sending them away like everyone else. As a consequence our children are fully bilingual (not many MKs are) - and I think that they may homeschool their children.
In the meantime, I get to watch your children growing up!
