Diddling again...

I should be writing an essay - homework for a university class in Japanese written composition - and hopefully I will be writing an essay in another minute or two! But Mary and I were watching Happy Slip again while I postponed the inevitable and this one was just too good. Not funny like a lot of her skits but a really good perspective on relationships. I just had to share it.

Yes! More men (and women) like this!

These are the original lyrics. I can understand why Ms. Christine feels the way she does about them. I actually heard this song on the radio, and I see this attitude a lot in the women.

"Take A Bow"

"Oh, How about a round of applause.
A standing ovation.

You look so dumb right now
Standing outside my house
Trying to apologize
You're so ugly when you cry
Please, just cut it out

Don't tell me you're sorry 'cause you're not
Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught
But you put on quite a show
Really had me going
But now it's time to go
Curtain's finally closing
That was quite a show
Very entertaining
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow

Grab your clothes and get gone
You better hurry up
Before the sprinklers come on
Talking' 'bout
Girl, I love you, you're the one
This just looks like a re-run
Please, what else is on

Oh, And the award for
The best liar goes to you
For making me believe
That you could be faithful to me
Let's hear your speech, Oh

How about a round of applause
A standing ovation

But you put on quite a show
Really had me going
Now it's time to go
Curtain's finally closing
That was quite a show
Very entertaining
But it's over now
Go on and take a bow
But it's over now"

This says a lot about how we're doing in our relationships here in the states.

Hmmm.... it reminds me of how foolish it is to date someone just cause they're hot - or maybe cause they're the only person available?!

If the guy (or girl!) isn't kind, reliable, a person of good character... FAITHFUL (!) better not even look at them!

There's more important things in life than sex!
