We chuckled our way through the first chapter together - but behind the amusing stories sensed a serious truth. We need pauses in our life!"There can be few more relaxing things in life than a nice cup of tea and a sit down. A good hot bath is one, but that's not always an option, especially if you are at work or doing your shopping."
- Nicey and Wifey's Nice Cup of Tea and a Sit Down
"Wifey" tells about her very demanding nurses training course and the enterprising, though stern, supervisor who devised a novel method of giving them the necessary breaks:
...in order to get them into the staffroom for their allocation of tea, they were called to see Mrs. Brown. She was treated with reverence. The patients knew that when she called, she could not be kept waiting, despite what their needs were. They never questioned who Mrs. Brown was, despite the fact that this was a male ward.
I think a lot of busy missionaries would profit from more appointments with Mrs. Brown!
