Savor the Moment

Yesterday Daughter #3 and I ventured out in the snow for an appointment at the Hirosaki Hokkensho. We got rather lost, were escorted there by a very kind policeman and by the time we finished with our appointment it was dusk. Along the river we paused to watch the ducks with their heads tucked under their wings reminding of us of our cats when they try to hide their noses from the cold.

I tried to shoot a photo with my phone - I'm not sure why I didn't think of the camera in my backpack! - but of course it was much too dark and I couldn't find the zoom... And then my daughter reprimanded, me, "Forget the camera. Just savor the moment!"

Yes, savor the moment.

It makes me think of William Henry Davies' poem Leisure:
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
