Oil plugs and horseshoe nails...

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.
I had to pick up husband and daughter in 鹿角 after I got home from English Fellowship last night. I didn't even make it in the door before they called

They had started down to Takayama (for spring executive meeting) right after the evening service, but an hour down the freeway the plug fell out of the oil tank on the truck and the engine burnt out. He's kicking himself to death because he's the one that changed the oil and therefore didn't put the plug in right... AND he's missing his meeting today because I had to come home to take someone to the airport this morning and therefore couldn't drive them on to Takayama... sigh...

That's terrible! I just prayed for it all to make sense somehow.

God always seems to cover me when I get awfully forgetful about things. Just one example: I was taking the Light Rail to work last week and staring out the window, daydreaming as I am wont to do. I get up for my stop, and I'm at the door, and this kind passenger pointed to my seat and said, "You forgot something?" And it was my schedule book with all my e-mail, Facebook, online banking, etc. passwords. All the business cards I need. Phone numbers and addresses. If I lost it, I would have been totally up the creek without a paddle. This has happened to me multiple times, and whenever it does, I pray to God to exceedingly bless whomever just completely saved me from my own inattentiveness.

Yes, may God save us from ourselves!

BTW, we now have a new engine - and clutch, and timing belt.
