35 years good years

Last night my husband and I watched a movie about our generation. It was a movie I would not recommend to you - but it WAS cause for reflection.

I am so glad that I did not engage in the free living that so many of my friends engaged in.

I am so glad that I had a grandfather who showed us by word and deed that building family relationships was way, way more important - and satisfying - than pursuing our own selfish interests.

I am not sorry that I married young and stayed married.

Today is our 35th wedding anniversary and, quite frankly, I am happier than ever.

To all my young (and old) friends I pass on this good advice of Solomon’s:

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;

bind them around your neck,

write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3

I wish we all could be like you, Laurie. Tell me, what ministry legacy will you leave the Japanese?

Thank you, Linda. And God bless you, too. I wish you the best of new years.

Craig, I ask myself that question a lot and the answer I get is the verse I gave. But love and faithfulness doesn't come to me naturally! Its only by God's mercy.

Congratulations Laurie and John! We celebrated our 35th in October. Our theme is and has been "Great is THY faithfulness". As you said for yourselves: it is God who gives us the capacity to love and remain faithful. May all the glory for our love and faithfulness go to HIM! Congratulations! Love you, Margaret

Amen and Amen! Only by God's mercy! Love you, too, Margaret

PS Do you remember Youth Group with Bunny Foss? That's the title of her biography, "Great Is Thy Faithfulness."
