My literacy project has required almost every ounce of energy left over from my (greatly reduced) church schedule. Hence the long hiatus.
I’ve probably lost even my most faithful readers!
But today I am NOT HAPPY. The winter snow camp was canceled… and I have decided to embark on a series of advent reflections.
I’m tempted to call these reflections “Small is Beautiful” or “From Little Acorns Grow Great Oaks.” Or maybe just, “Increase Our Vision!”
This is what I wrote to prayer partners earlier this evening:
This makes me think of the KJV rendition of Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish." (It may be a mistranslation but it certainly describes my feelings at the moment!)
Pray:
- for God to give us a really, really, really worthwhile (in EVERYONE's mind) English Camp, January 5 -8.
- for God to send a good number of young, strong, able, vision-filled men to serve as pastors/missionaries in Aomori.

Song: Standing on the promises of Christ my King. Through eternal ages let his praises ring....standing, standing, standing, I'm standing on the promises of God.
Philippians 4:13
I love that song! Thank you!
