Thanksgiving

For many years now our church has celebrated Thanksgiving on Kinro Kansha no Hi - which probably more closely parallels American Labor Day but falls near American Thanksgiving and even incorporates the word Thanks into its name. So we have a Japanese-American Potluck with Turkey & Stuffing, Gravy& Mashed Potatoes, cranberry sauce and Pies along side of sushi, and red rice.

This year Pastor Igarashi from Goshogawara fixed our organ - he's an organ maker (yes! maker!) by trade - and played it for us! But did we take a photo? Of course not! We always wait until the celebration is over and the table is empty (or trashed!) and this time, after half the guests had gone home.

The Organ
- we got it from the camp after they got it from the Anglicans.

Winding down but unwilling to go home.
