Forgiving Each Other

When someone has disappointed you... it is often difficult to decide whether to continue their acquaintance, even if the disappointers have done noble things in the meantime. There are some who say that you should forgive everyone, even the people who have disappointed you immeasurably. There are others who say that you should not forgive anyone, and should stomp off in a huff no matter how many times they apologize. Of these two philosophies, the second one is of course much more fun, but it can also be exhausting to stomp off in a huff every time someone has disappointed you, as everyone disappoints everyone eventually, and one can't stomp off in a huff every minute of the day.
- Lemony Snicket's "The Penultimate Peril"
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, JUST AS IN CHRIST, GOD FORGAVE YOU.
Ephesians 4:32

Thank you for all of your quotes and thoughts Mom. I miss having long discussions with you allot. And I miss reading to. It's funny, I'm at uni but there never seems to be any time to do any thing edifying. I'm way overdue on buying hyacinths for my soul. :)
P.S. Thanks for sending me Shiokari Pass. I started reading it today. And amazingly enough, my roommates LOVED Grave of the Fireflies!

I miss our discussions, too!

You would have loved the movie we watched the other night - みんなの家 - there was a lot to discuss in the way of character development.

I'm glad you're reading Shiokari Pass. I wish I could buy you hyacinths, too. We have a pot of pink ones in the genkan just now! So I try to pause and take in the fragrance when I pass through the genkan.
