Why we keep a dog...

...because we're busy people. Much too busy to take the walks we need. Or so we think. But our dog Yae keeps us in touch with what's really important: our relationships with God and man.

When we walk we remember God, we spend time with each other. We remember that all our "busy-ness" will come to naught. Only God and man are eternal.

There were a lot more of them! But I only had my phone camera.

Mt. Iwaki reminds me of Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the hills--where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth!

This post reminded me what's missing in my life. I thought to myself today that life here's been stifling. My weekends start on Sat nights - by then I'm too tired to do anything. And I caught myself wondering, perhaps I am too tired to rest properly?

I miss life in Hirosaki.

And we miss Siqin!

I wish you could come for Messiah.... and stay!

Apparently we won't get any short term workers this time around. My husband is a bit worried with Christmas coming on - and goodness knows what I'll do for staff for camp. All the English teachers are going overseas and Hirodai starts that week. (So hoping we get lots of HSers this time!)
