From the Takayama Slow Lane

My husband had work in Miyagi Prefecture this week and I went along. I thought I would spend the week catching up on office work. But I didn't.

I did, however, prepare for the new semester which starts tomorrow.

And I slowed down... We woke up late (for us), and though we worked until dark we spent our evenings talking in the candlelight and taking long walks through winding little streets and looking out over the moonlit bay.

I like going away - it helps me to see all the things I'm no longer seeing. Life takes on new perspective.

Pauses in life are so important.

Glad you could get "away" and be refreshed.
