Favorite pastimes

Our family is a family that reads together
... or listens to Audio Books together!

In the last year, Daughter # 4 and I have downloaded all sorts of books but of late we’ve listened to a prodigious lot of Charles Dickens and G.K. Chesterton. On the way back from Karuizawa we listened to the “Man Who Knew Too Much." But it’s his “Eugenics and Other Evils” that has me hooked just now. I love his wit!

“One is a means and the other an end; they are in different mental worlds. Leaving the complications of the human breakfast-table out of account, in an elemental sense, the egg only exists to produce the chicken. But the chicken does not exist only in order to produce another egg.” - G.K.Chesterton, “What's Wrong With the World”
